Registering for BLAST this year has changed. The
Regional NYI Council voted to use Creative Convention
Consulting to handle the registration for Regional BLAST
this year. All participants, spectators, and adult
sponsors will be registering online (www.mvnu.edu/blast)
only this year with the consulting group (no paper
registration forms will be mailed).
The online regional
registration will be March 1 –
May 15. All fees must be paid by May 15 to
Creative Consulting. Individual late fees will increase
weekly after the May 15
deadline. Every adult and teen will still be required
to complete the Medical and Civil Liability form and
mail those to the WV North BLAST Coordinator.
You
will need to go to the BLAST Web site (www.mvnu.edu/blast)
to download the BLAST Handbook this year. Please review
the adult sponsor/chaperone section. Here is a brief
overview:
Ø
One
adult female for every 6 teen girls (Example - 5 girls
require 1 adult; 7 girls require 2 adults)
Ø
One
adult male for every 6 teen boys (Example – 3 boys
require 1 adult; 12 boys require 2 adults)
Ø
Remember for every 7 teens you can house one
Adult Sponsor/ Chaperone for Free – Please indicate
which adult sponsor is a chaperone.
Ø
If you
do not have enough Adult Sponsors/Chaperones, you can
combine with another church but written confirmation
from that church must be submitted to the WV North
BLAST Coordinator stating they have agreed to supervise
your teens in the dorms/apartments.
Ø
EVERY
adult sponsor must have a Criminal Background Check on
file at the WV North District Office before the BLAST
event begins or you will not be permitted
to attend (NO EXCEPTIONS). (Criminal Background
forms may be obtained from the WV North District Web
site,
www.wvnd.org. You may call the District Office to
verify if one is on file.
Please be sure all
teens have a copy of the BLAST rules of conduct & dress
from the 2008 BLAST Handbook online and have expressed
their understanding and that the rules will be
enforced. Here is a brief overview:

NO
GIRLS in the BOYS rooms and NO BOYS in the GIRLS rooms!
(THERE IS NO SAFE ZONE – THIS INCLUDES THE LIVING
ROOM.)
Ø
Attendance at ALL services/Awards is REQUIRED – NO
EXCEPTIONS!
Ø
Sleeping areas will be monitored closely – No hanging
out while BLAST activities are scheduled.
Ø
Cooperation with any adult wearing a BLAST Badge is
required
Ø
All
other rules as listed in the BLAST handbook.
