NYC District Sponsors

RSFAQ (Really Super Frequently Asked Questions)

How many sponsors should our district bring?

We are asking that all districts bring a minimum of 1 (one) sponsor for every ten (10) students.

How will I select them?

All adults who apply to be a sponsor need to download, fill out and submit to their district NYI council the medical release form and the personal reference form. Once the district NYI council has approved them and done a background check on them, then the district NYI president or NYC Coordinator should pass along the backdoor registration link for sponsors to register.

How much do sponsors have to pay to register
  Registration is $450.

What is the registration deadline for sponsors?

Sponsors need to be registered by January 10,2007 with a $200 deposit. The final balance is due Feb. 15. This should give districts more than enough time to have adequate sponsors for the number of students they have registered for NYC.

What should we look for in a background check to keep someone out of NYC?

If anyone has a felony conviction they should not be allowed to attend NYC. If someone has any conviction of sexual crimes or crimes of physical abuse they may not attend NYC.

*** We do believe that God changes lives and if you have a special situation where something has happened in someone' s past and God has worked in that person's life please contact us at NY] with your district's recommendation that they be allowed to attend NYC with the signature of the District Superintendent. We will then submit your request to the Board of General Superintendents for their review.

Can I have a college aged student be a sponsor?

While we all recognize the beauty of Dave and the lofty goal of looking like Dave, we realize that it is quite frankly not possible for all peoples to attain that level of beauty. We also would like to take this opportunity to challenge all people to strive for the innerbeauty that Dave models. So, yes, as many as possible would be great, but it is not a requirement.
